Home Remodel

Before my husband and I were married we bought a tiny little cape cod to renovate and eventually live in after we were married. We spent about 3 ⅕ months remodeling the home and making it more livable. It was the perfect picture of a vintage charmed home. It was nothing fancy, but the entire home had great bones. The home still had the original paint, curtains, appliances etc. from the late 1950s when we bought it.

I hope you enjoy these before and after pictures! (More blog posts to come about remodeling on a budget.)

Bedroom #1: Before
Bedroom #1: After
There are two bedrooms in this home, both look identical.
For the sake of this blog post I only added one [before] picture.
The other view of bedroom #1.
Before
After
Vanity is from IKEA. Cabinet Color is the brand Magnolia, in the color Emmie’s Room.
Bedroom #2: This room is used as my office, closet and music room.
Before: The living room
After: Underneath all the green carpet there was BEAUTIFUL wood floors.
Before: The Kitchen.
It was kind of cute in it’s own way, but it definitely needed a face lift.
We relocated most of the kitchen appliances, including the sink.
We also installed a dishwasher, as the home did not have one prior to us moving in.
The Loft
This is the upstairs of our home.
We didn’t do much to it except paint the ceiling white. I had plans of painting the knotty pine white to resemble ship lap, but I have never the time (can you relate?)… plus we kind of liked the two toned look it gave the room.
Before: The basement
It sure was a looker all right.
We gave the bar area a face lift during the summer.
Don’t mind the light thats hanging down from the ceiling. We are still in the process of finishing it.

That’s it folks! Thanks for scrolling through the remodel process and seeing the before and after photos with me. My husband along with my family loves to help on projects together. We definitely couldn’t have done anything without their help and we still cherish all the memories we have in this house together.
