The Wedding Day

Our wedding day was easily the best day of our lives so far. Sounds cliche I know, but it’s true. The day was filled with wonderful memories that it still makes me smile while writing this. There is something to be said about being surrounded by your friends and family on one of the biggest days of your life. It’s something I will never forget. It was a bittersweet moment having to leave late that evening for our honeymoon because we didn’t want the day to end.

Throughout the day, you know in your head that you’re getting married but for some reason it still feels surreal and it’s hard to focus on just one thing, even though you’re trying your best to “be in the moment” like everyone tells you. Alllll the emotions.

Our wedding was fairly simple, but the beauty of the Michigan summer made it magical with all it’s golden hues, blue sky and flowering buds surrounding the property. One of my biggest wedding day inspirations has always been Audrey Roloff. The details of her wedding were truly unmatched, so I tried to channel my inner Audrey while planning ( I will do a blog post soon on how you can have the budget friendly wedding of your dreams).

Now, after all that chit chat let’s get into the fun details. 😉

Location: My parents property.
There were tiny corn sprouts in the field behind which made for a beautiful backdrop.
Earrings: My grandmothers vintage clip ons.
With the inspiration of Pinterest I was my own florist for the wedding. I might add if you are thinking of being your own florist as well, I would highly recommend asking for help. You WILL need it;)
Head Piece: Twigs & Honey
You can’t tell in most pictures but my wonderful seamstress added 3D flowers all over the skirt of the dress.
The dress also had pockets in the tulle… major heart eyes.
The ribbons on the bouquet’s are scraps from my wedding dress.
Bridesmaid dresses: BHLDN, Adrianna Papell, Dessy Group, and WAYF.
Groomsmen Suit’s: Allure Bridals, color: Cornflower
Bridal Gown & veil: Allure Bridals.
Dinnerware: The vintage china plates and wexford glasses I collected from local thrift shops.
Pies: My lovely co-workers from Sweetie-licious styled this dreamy dessert table. We had a variety of pies and since it was strawberry season one of the flavors we chose was fresh strawberry rhubarb along with; chocolate cream, key lime, and triple berry pie.
Coffee Bar: Way Point Coffee Co.
This gives me all of the Pride and Prejudice Vibes.

Thanks for going down memory lane with me.
